According to her, the average daily air temperature at VDNKh station was -1.6 degrees, which is 5.6 degrees above the norm. Such a phenomenon in the capital is observed on average once in seven or eight years. The warmest was the first decade of February in 1990 with an average temperature of +0.7 degrees, according to the agency of city news "Moscow".
"As for the snow cover, 2025 was a completely unique year. There has not yet been a case that there was no snow in Moscow at the end of the first decade of February," the meteorologist emphasized.
She added that a total of 2.8 mm of precipitation fell in the capital - 6% of the norm, writes "Moscow 24". In the current century, this is the fourth case of such a deficit. In 2003, only 1.3 mm fell in the first ten-day period.
On February 11, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, warned that the impending frosts would last in Moscow until next week. According to him, the cold atmospheric front will lower the temperature by no more than three or four degrees, 360.ru notes. Shuvalov added that a light snow is expected on Friday. At the weekend, the thermometer columns will drop to -13 degrees, in the afternoon will rise to -8 degrees.
At the same time, Shuvalov noted in a conversation with RT that the regions south of Moscow are already experiencing temperatures below the norm.
