Sanctions against Russia damage the economy of the European Union (EU), they do little harm to the Russian Federation, Bulgarian Member of the European Parliament Rada Laikova said in an interview with Izvestia.

"The Commission is probably already working on the 16th package, continuing to damage the economy of Europe. They don't know what to come up with anymore. The latest sanctions packages do not practically harm Russia, but only harm us. Despite the sanctions war, Russia's economy is in better shape than any EU country," the MEP said.

Earlier it became known that the EU is developing a new package of restrictions against Russia. According to media reports, it may include a ban on imports of Russian gas and LNG, as well as aluminum.
