Allergy season will start early in 2025

This year's allergy season will start at least a month earlier, in March, allergists interviewed by Izvestia said.

Birch, whose pollen is one of the main allergens, has not yet blossomed, but, according to the analytical service "Pollen Club", will begin in 28-34 days. As noted allergologist-immunologist of the clinic "Fantasy" Daria Levina, usually the tree begins to "dust" in April-May.

"Comfortable for her temperature - from +5 degrees, and she blooms about a month after that," the expert added.

At the same time, according to the "Pollen Club" application, Russia is already registering alder pollen in the Moscow region and hazel pollen in the northwest of the country. However, according to allergologists, this pollen is mainly brought in from Europe.

Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist of the Meteonovosti information agency, noted that the absence of snow and abnormally warm temperatures for winter led to the beginning of the allergy season already in March.

In addition, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand emphasized that the main reason for the warm winter in 2025 - the prolonged Atlantic cyclones, which bring moisture and mild air from the west.
