Rospotrebnadzor launched an investigation after people were poisoned by baked goods in Moscow

Metropolitan Department of Rospotrebnadzor is conducting an epidemiological investigation into the poisoning of two people with heavy metals after consuming baked goods. This was reported on February 11 on the website of the department.

"The Department of Rospotrebnadzor in Moscow immediately launched an epidemiological investigation into the public catering organization. In connection with the establishment of gross violations will be applied an interim measure in the form of a temporary ban on activity," - stated in the message.

"Just a few hours ago, work was boiling here. On the table the remains of flour, and on trays - ready baked goods for sale. At the time of examination, the cooks in the kitchen were replaced by investigators, they will have to find out how exactly mercury got inside the puffs," - said Izvestia correspondent Alexander Menyailov.

Earlier, on February 11, two people in Moscow were poisoned by baked goods in which mercury-like balls were found. The medics who arrived on the scene, gave the victims a gastric lavage. Doctors continue to carry out the necessary measures.
