Putin posthumously awarded a Kursk teenager with the medal "For saving the lost"


Russian President Vladimir Putin has posthumously awarded the medal "For the rescue of the lost" to 16-year-old teenager from Kursk region Artem Zherdev. The corresponding decree was posted on February 11 on the website for the publication of legal acts.
"For courageous and decisive actions in the rescue of people in extreme conditions to award the medal "For the rescue of the lost" Zherdev Artem Eduardovich (posthumously)", - stated in the text of the document.
At the same time, the head of the Oktyabrsky district of Kursk region Andrei Bykovsky told "RIA Novosti" that Zherdev died on June 19, 2024. He was trying to pull a drowning comrade out of the water.
Earlier, on December 8, 2024, it was reported that Putin posthumously awarded the Order of Pirogov posthumously to the medical workers of the sanitary aviation, who died in the crash of the Mi-2 helicopter in the Kirov region. Thus, the state awards were given to nurse Tatiana Gmyzina, nurse Sergei Shirokikh and doctor Alexander Gysku. The accident with the Mi-2 helicopter in Darovsky district of Kirov region became known on October 26. Then the governor of the region Alexander Sokolov noted that there were only medics on board in addition to the pilot.
