US citizen Mark Fogel, convicted of drug smuggling, has been released and handed over to the US side. This was announced by his lawyer Dmitry Ovsyannikov in a conversation with "Izvestia" on February 11.

"Mark has contacted his family, is now flying to the United States," he said.
