Investigations into the collision of a car with an amphibious boat on Lake Baikal have begun

In the Irkutsk region, an investigation into the collision of an SUV with a hovercraft on the ice of Lake Baikal has been organized. This is reported by the Eastern Interregional Department of Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 11, in the waters of Kurkutsky Bay in Olkhonsky district. A Haval passenger car and an Amadeus-1 hovercraft (hivus) collided, writes IA IrkutskMedia.

"An investigative inspection is being conducted on the indications of a crime under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety of movement and operation of water transport")," the agency said in a statement.

Information about the victims is not given, but, judging by the photos from the scene of the accident, both vehicles were damaged. The circumstances of the incident are also being investigated by the Baikal-Angar Transport Prosecutor's Office.

On January 30, a car with two fishermen fell through the ice of Lake Baikal in Olkhonsky district of Irkutsk region. The search operation was completed the same day, the men died.
