In Hamburg-Renneburg, Germany, a truck collided with a train near a railroad crossing on Reller Street, killing one person and injuring 25 others. This was reported by Norddeutscher Rundfunk(NDR) on February 11.

"As a result of the accident, a 55-year-old man died at the scene. According to a federal police spokesman, 25 people were injured, six of them moderately and 19 lightly. Among others, the driver of the truck sustained injuries. It is still unclear whether among the injured is the driver of the train," - said in the material NDR.

It is reported that the truck was trying to pass through the railroad crossing when the barrier suddenly closed. However, the rear of the truck was sticking out on the tracks. The train, which was carrying at least 291 passengers, was unable to brake in time.

At the same time, the Hamburg-Harburg-Buchholz rail line was closed and trains will be rerouted, causing possible delays of about 15 minutes. A fire brigade of about 80 personnel as well as police officers worked at the scene.

Earlier, on January 15, two people were killed and six injured when two freight trains collided near the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Four ambulance crews, police and five fire brigades worked at the scene of the accident. Because of the incident, train traffic had to be stopped in one of Sofia's districts.
