A new tourist vessel with an electric motor was laid down in Nizhny Novgorod


An electric tourist vessel of a new type has been laid down at the Chkalovskaya Shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod Region. This was announced by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin in his Telegram channel on February 11.
"Today an electric tourist vessel of a new type - "Sura 2.0", fully developed by Nizhny Novgorod designers by order of GAMA company, was laid down at Chkalovskaya Shipyard," he wrote.
It is reported that the new vessel will be similar to the usual for the residents of Nizhny Novgorod motor ship, but will operate with the help of an electric motor and will be able to run autonomously.
"For the region such a vessel is a plus to the tourist attraction, and what is important, a new stage in the development of the shipbuilding enterprise with 135-year history", - said Nikitin.
Earlier, on February 6, Nikolai Patrushev, Chairman of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation, held a working meeting with Nikitin in Nizhny Novgorod, during which they discussed the development of cargo and passenger traffic on the Volga River, the workload of the region's shipbuilding enterprises, as well as the prospects for their modernization.
