The seafood company Mowi has promised to reward those who catch 27,000 salmon off the coast of Norway. This was reported by The Guardian newspaper on February 11.

It is specified that the fish disappeared from the farm, which is located in the province of Troms in the north-west of the kingdom, which contained a total of 105 thousand salmon. They promise to pay 500 Norwegian kroner (about $44) for each individual.

The company called this mass escape a "catastrophe for wild salmon". The publication explains that the escaped fish can seriously harm wild fish: crossbreeding between wild populations and farmed salmon results in offspring that have low long-term survival rates.

The newspaper recalled that last summer the number of wild salmon in Norway fell to a historic low.

Earlier, on January 20, The Guardian reported that in Alaska they want to once again allow hunters to shoot wolves and bears from helicopters until their populations are reduced to certain levels. The publication pointed out that these measures could lead to the destruction of up to 80% of animals on an area of more than 8 thousand hectares. At the same time, activists condemned such an idea, as there is no guarantee that it will help restore the number of moose and deer, which is what the state authorities are striving for.
