The current level of approval of former U.S. President Joe Biden among Americans amounted to 39% and was the lowest among the five living ex-heads of state. This was reported on February 11 by the American Institute for Public Opinion Research Gallup.

The study was conducted January 21-27. Respondents were asked to give an assessment of Biden, Barack Obama, George Bush Jr, Bill Clinton, as well as the current head of state Donald Trump, who has already held the highest office in 2017-2021.

"Of the five living people who have held the U.S. presidency, Barack Obama had the highest approval rating (59%) and Joe Biden had the lowest (39%)," the organization's website states.

Bush and Clinton received 52% and 48% respectively.

It is noted that the period between the presidential election on November 5, 2024 and the inauguration of Trump on January 20 had virtually no effect on the level of approval of the performance of both the president-elect and the outgoing Biden. That said, the incumbent president's latest results were among the best since Gallup began measuring his approval rating in 1999.

Biden, on the other hand, showed one of the worst results in the entire period of his political prominence, the report emphasizes. According to Gallup, his current rating is second only to June 2024, according to the results of which his activity was approved by only 37% of respondents.

Earlier, on January 17, Fox News reported that more than half of Americans are not satisfied with the work of the outgoing Biden administration in the economy. In addition, 89% of respondents said they were concerned about inflation in the country. That percentage was up six points from an identical poll at the beginning of Biden's term.

On Jan. 13, early in the final week of the presidency, Biden's job approval rating dropped to 35.6%. It was noted that only 35.6% of the population approve of Biden's work as leader of the country, while 57.1% were dissatisfied with his work.
