- Finland has pointed to the possibility of returning peace to Ukraine after NATO's surrender

It is possible to settle the conflict and establish peace in Ukraine if NATO capitulates. This was stated by Professor Tuomas Malinen of the University of Helsinki on February 11.
"The path to peace in Ukraine and Europe will begin, in fact, with NATO's surrender in Ukraine," Malinen wrote on his page in the social network X (former Twitter).
He pointed out that it is also necessary to remove the alliance's military bases from the Russian border, and it is necessary to start with such facilities in Finland.
In his publication, the professor appealed to US President Donald Trump, his national security adviser Michael Waltz, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance, entrepreneur and billionaire Ilon Musk and Trump's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, noting that there is a path to a peaceful settlement, but to find it requires the intelligence and courage possessed by the above-mentioned people.
On Feb. 11, Trump said his team has been in close communication with Moscow and Kiev over the past week, making significant progress in working toward a resolution of the conflict. The U.S. president believes that "a settlement will happen."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on February 10 that only the elimination of its root causes - the Kiev regime's course of exterminating all Russians and NATO's eastward expansion, which threaten Russian security - can lead to the end of the Ukrainian conflict.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly reminded that the Russian Federation has never refused from peace talks, but they should be conducted on the basis of the provisions agreed in Istanbul and not on the basis of "ephemeral demands". In addition, on January 28, the head of state specified that "anyone" could negotiate with the Russian Federation from the Ukrainian side, but legitimate people should participate in the signing of the final documents.
The last round of negotiations took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4 of the same year, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the impossibility of holding talks with Putin was put into effect.
