Britain imposes new sanctions on six Russian citizens and two companies

The UK authorities have imposed new sanctions on six Russian citizens and two organizations from Russia. This follows from a statement published on February 11 on the website of the United Kingdom government.
The IT company Zservers and six of its employees have fallen under the restrictions. The organization is suspected of allegedly committing large-scale cyberattacks with the help of malicious ransomware.
In addition, the list includes the Russian provider Xhost, which is allegedly a front company of Zservers.
The measures are aimed at strengthening the national security of the UK, the publication said.
Earlier, on February 3, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keira Starmer, said that the UK government would work with European Union (EU) countries to introduce new energy sanctions against Russia. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, called London's plans for anti-Russian sanctions a reflection of the policy of imposing confrontation.
Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Russia after the start of the special operation to protect civilians in Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
