Russians began to spend more on beauty services


Before the holidays, the average check of beauty salons increased by 13% compared to January last year and amounted to 2871 rubles. This is stated in the results of the research of analysts of the wallet "YuMoneu" and IT-company "Evotor", which were read by "Izvestia" on February 12.
Among the most popular grooming services are haircut and manicure, which is confirmed by the data of UMopeu survey among 1.5 thousand Russians. Thus, before holidays or an important date women do styling (43% of respondents), makeup (41%), pedicure, manicure and face masks (35%), go to a beautician (7%). Only 15% of respondents do nothing special.
At the same time, the majority of surveyed men (72%) bring themselves in order without resorting to salon services. Of these, 35% do not do anything special, and 10% go to a barber shop or barbershop.
According to Evotor IT company, in January 2025 the average check of barbershops in RA amounted to 1762 rubles, which is 7% more compared to the same period last year. The average price of a haircut increased by 7% year-on-year in January and amounted to 1,212 rubles. In regular barbershops a men's haircut will cost less - 924 rubles (+5% compared to January 2024), while in barbershops it will cost an average of 1516 rubles (+4%). The average price of a manicure in Russia amounted to 2163 rubles (+10%).
"The trend towards conscious consumption and self-care will continue to grow in the coming years. According to our forecasts, in 2025 the market for beauty services and healthy eating may increase by 40-50% on average," said Irina Polyakova, Head of Corporate Client Support at UMopeu.
The highest price tag for a haircut before the holidays was recorded in Moscow - the average price reaches 1789 rubles, and the lowest prices - in Bashkortostan (750 rubles).
To go to a barbershop is most expensive in St. Petersburg - the average price is 1923 rubles. In the capital, the price tag is slightly lower (1 ruble), and in the Astrakhan region - the lowest (1,070 rubles).
The most expensive manicure is in Moscow (2504 rubles) and St. Petersburg (2329 rubles), while the cheapest is in the Stavropol Territory (1598 rubles). In January, the average check of manicure salons in Russia amounted to 2739 rubles.
In terms of the average cost of all services in beauty salons Moscow is the leader (3527 rubles), St. Petersburg is in second place (3228 rubles). The cheapest cost of a visit to a beauty salon is in the Kemerovo region (Br1,527).
Earlier, on January 27, Tkachenko told "Izvestia" that in the beauty sector in 2025 there are several trends, including environmental friendliness and transparency of cosmetic products. According to her, consumers have become more and more interested in the composition of products.
