Ukrainians in Poland have become leaders among foreigners in the number of crimes

Ukrainian citizens rank first among foreigners in committing crimes in Poland. This was reported on February 10 by Polish radio station RMF24 with reference to the national police department of the republic.

It is noted that last year in connection with criminal activity in the country detained 16,437 foreigners. This is 857 less than in 2023. At the same time, the most frequent crime is drunk driving.

"As for nationality, the first place is occupied by Ukrainians, who violated the law in our country 9753 times. The police detained them most often for drunk driving (2943 times), theft (930 times), as well as fraud (461 times)", - stated in the publication.

The second line in the list was occupied by Georgians, who accounted for 1780 crimes. It is specified that citizens of Georgia most often resorted to committing such illegal acts as theft, drunk driving and possession of narcotic substances.

The Polish Interior Ministry has already provided the government with a plan for immediate response to crime among foreigners, according to which such citizens should be deported from the republic.

Earlier, on February 7, former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller said that Ukrainian agents may be involved in a recent series of arson attacks in Poland. He shared his fears that Ukrainian citizens might try to destabilize the situation in the country on the eve of the election.

On the same day, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the country would not honor the European Union's (EU) "Migration Pact" and host migrants. He noted that the republic had already accepted almost 2m Ukrainian refugees.

Before that, on February 4, Polish Interior Minister Tomasz Semoniak said that the country was not going to accept migrants and pay fines for this. He added that the crime rate in Poland was caused by the influx of foreigners.
