The conflict in Ukraine may end in a month or two with a compromise, which may be painful for all residents of the country. This was stated by Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko at a forum on February 11.

"We can simulate the end of hostilities, hopefully in a month or two. It is not clear on what conditions, but I am sure that it is difficult to call it positive. The so-called compromise can be very painful for every Ukrainian," - quotes his words "Strana.ua" in Telegram-channel.

He fears that the period after the end of the conflict may be accompanied by unrest on the territory of Ukraine. He recalled that such things have already happened in the history of other countries.

Earlier, on February 5, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20, 2024) extended martial law and general mobilization in the country until May 9 this year. The Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of the relevant documents back on January 15.

Before that, on February 1, the Ukrainian leader said that he expected the start of negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict with the participation of Moscow, Kiev, Washington and Brussels.

In his turn, the Kremlin's official representative, Dmitriy Peskov, said that the Russian Federation considered the Ukrainian leader's words as empty.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
