Poroshenko said about the critical situation of the AFU at the front

The situation on the front line is critical for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was stated by former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko (a member of the association included by Rosfinmonitoring in the list of those involved in extremist activity or terrorism) at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on February 11.
"The critical situation on the front line - on the Pokrovsk direction, Chasov Yar, Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, Kursk. The army needs money, ammunition and protection," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
He added that parliament was discussing various problems, but not the provision of the Ukrainian army.
At the end of January, the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper reported on a closed session of the Verkhovna Rada dedicated to the real situation of the AFU on the front. It was noted that at the meeting, the head of the country's Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR), Kirill Budanov (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation), said that Ukraine's existence could be threatened if Kiev and Moscow do not start negotiations before the summer of 2025. Later, the GUR said that the transmission of Budanov's words was unreliable. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) opened a criminal case after Budanov's words were leaked to the media.
Before that, on October 2, 2024, The Daily Beast reported that the AFU military complained of fatigue. According to one of the AFU fighters, many military men have been on the front line since February 2022. He also spoke about the difficulties in obtaining vacations: some of them are given only a month and a half to rest, and some do not get vacation at all.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
