FAS initiated two cases against Gazprombank for advertising violations

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has initiated two cases against Gazprombank. The violations in advertising of the credit organization were revealed, the press service of the antimonopoly body reported on February 11.
"The FAS received complaints from citizens about the bank's commercials. One of them was broadcast on TV and radio and contained attractive information for consumers about the deposit at a rate of up to 25% per annum. Another commercial, which was broadcasted on TV, informed that Gazprombank's card offered a favorable cashback of 35% on all transactions," the service explained.
At the same time, the information on the essential conditions for obtaining financial services in the explanatory footnotes to the video advertisement was placed in a difficult-to-understand font and was shown for a short time, while the radio advertisement was absent.
According to the agency, such actions of the bank may mislead consumers and contain signs of violations of advertising legislation.
In case of establishment of guilt to the organization will be applied measures of administrative action.
Earlier, February 4, it was reported that the Federal Antimonopoly Service fined Alfa Bank three times for placing inappropriate advertising. In 2024, 55 cases were initiated against this credit organization on the grounds of violations of the Law on Advertising. The total amount of fines imposed exceeded RUB 23 million.
