- Heads of Rosatom and Kurchatov Institute tell details of the agreement

The new agreement between Rosatom State Corporation and the National Research Center (NRC) Kurchatov Institute includes about 15 areas that the organizations are already developing in one way or another. This was reported on February 11 in response to a question from Izvestia by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute, and Gen. Mikhail Kovalchuk and Rosatom CEO Sergei Likhachev.
"About 15 directions [are envisioned in the document]. There is no innovation here, all of them are involved by us in one way or another. Today we are systematizing and formalizing each of these individual directions and projects into independent scientific and industrial projects. This is the point," Likhachev said.
He noted that Rosatom and the Kurchatov Institute will continue to study the structure of matter and use this information to solve technological issues. In addition, the information technology agenda is expanding.
"Today it is, so to speak, the future nuclear biosafety project," Kovalchuk pointed out.
Likhachev added that the new agreement will mobilize scientific and technological potential to work on national programs and projects.
"I want to say, you know, we have such a ping-pong right. Because actually the event is kind of unimportant, but epochal. <...> We enriched efforts guarantee, so to speak, the successful development of the country," - pointed out the head of the Kurchatov Institute.
