The average cost of a room in Moscow hotels will increase by 30% by the end of 2024. This was announced by Marina Smirnova, Partner, Head of the Department of hotel business and tourism CMWP on Tuesday, February 11.
The specialist noted that the average load in the city is almost at the level of 80%. This is not the limit, but it is an indicator that the market is approaching its maximum, she added.
"Naturally, the market reacts with price. Against this background, while the average price of a room per night has actually increased by 30%, up to 11.5 thousand rubles, we see that the increase in the room stock of quality hotels in the city amounted to 3.7% - 778 rooms, in fact, it was due to the input in the IV quarter of the year," - quoted Smirnova city news agency "Moscow".
According to the expert, the new supply is not growing at such a fast pace as we would like.
"Due to the growth of inflation, construction costs, due to the costs associated with parallel imports, the cost of equipping hotels is growing, and we already see the growth of construction costs by 30% at least," Smirnova specified.
