In St. Petersburg, a fifth-grader, who committed arson on the instructions of his mentors, was detained on a hot trail. This was reported by the source of "Izvestiya" on February 11.

According to the source, unknown persons promised the child $400 for setting fire to a door on Energetikov Street. In case of refusal to fulfill the requirements, the boy was threatened with the leakage of personal data.

Frightened by the threats, the fifth-grader asked his parents for a walk, found a bottle of gasoline, a lighter and went to the place.

The boy was detained on hot tracks and placed in a detention center for juvenile offenders. Investigators are checking his cell phone and looking for handlers.

Earlier, on February 2, a 15-year-old schoolboy and a 17-year-old college student were detained in Kolomna for setting fire to four relay cabinets at a railway crossing. The incident occurred that day in the area of the 120th km of the crossing of stations Golutvin - Shchurovo Ryazan direction of the Moscow railroad. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcers found burned structures and traces of flammable liquid.
