Sikharulidze became president of the Figure Skating Federation in Russia


Olympic champion in pairs skating Anton Sikharulidze has been elected president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (RSPF). This was reported in the press service of the organization on February 11.
"Sikharulidze was unanimously elected president of the FFKR", - stated in the publication on the website.
The election conference was held in Moscow on Tuesday, February 11. Prior to the election, Sikharulidze was the acting head of the federation.
Earlier, on January 24, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia will continue "patient work" to return athletes to the world stage.
Before that, on December 20, 2024, the International Skating Union (ISU) allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in qualifying for the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy in a neutral status. It was specified that the decision applies to competitions in speed skating, figure skating and short track speed skating. At the same time, Russians will not be admitted to the team tournament.
