The refusal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, 2024, from the conditions of the American leader Donald Trump on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict will lead to disaster for Kiev. This was reported by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Dubinsky on February 11.

"The refusal is the transfer of the solution of the issue to Europe, which will lead to disaster in the shortest period," he wrote in Telegram-channel.

According to him, it could also lead to another attempt to move the government to Lviv. He added that the conditions would include the lifting of the ban on negotiations through the Verkhovna Rada and the formation of a negotiating group to create a "settlement plan with directives from the speaker."

At the same time, Dubinsky noted that the agreement "opens the door" for the arrival of Trump's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg with a number of conditions that Zelensky will have to agree to.

On February 3, Trump said that in exchange for financial and military aid, Washington expects Kiev to guarantee supplies of rare earth metals. He also emphasized that the United States would require the European Union (EU) to increase funding for Ukraine's support.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on February 6 that the US president's words about continued assistance to Kiev in return for Ukraine's rare-earth metals were more like an "aport" command than a deal.

At the same time, NI magazine on February 7 predicted the West's defeat over Trump's plan for resources in Ukraine. According to the publication, if the American leader really wants to seize Ukraine's rare earth resources, the US will face more conflicts with the Russian Federation.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
