Russian Supreme Court approves sentence for SBU spy from Samara region

The Russian Supreme Court has approved the sentence of Georgiy Kamlash, a spy for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) from Kinelsky district of Samara Region. This was reported by Izvestiya correspondent on February 11.

The cassation appeal against the sentence under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "High Treason" was considered at a closed session.

Earlier, the Samara Regional Court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony with restraint of liberty for a year. In addition, the offender must pay a fine of 250 thousand rubles.

According to the investigation, in 2023 Kamlash conducted reconnaissance at the stations of the Kuibyshev railroad on the instructions of the Ukrainian security services. He identified echelons with military equipment of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, photographed them and sent the information to the curator from the special service of Ukraine.
