The mayor of Magadan submitted his resignation letter


Magadan City Duma will consider the issue of Mayor Yuri Grishan's resignation at an extraordinary meeting on February 12. This is reported in the agenda of the event.
"On the early termination of powers of the head of the municipal formation "City of Magadan", the mayor of the city of Magadan", - reads one of the items of the program.
In addition, the meeting will consider a draft resolution on holding a competition for the position of the head of Magadan.
Grishan himself confirmed in a conversation with journalists that he is resigning.
"If we talk about further plans, I will move on to intensified hockey training," - quotes the mayor's words "RIA Novosti".
Grishan was elected mayor of Magadan in 2013. In 2020, he had already submitted his resignation, but then the competition Commission decided to keep him as head of the city.
Earlier, on February 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin released Andrei Nikitin from the post of head of the Novgorod region. Release from office was carried out at the own request of Nikitin. The region was temporarily headed by First Vice-Governor Alexander Dronov.
Later, the press service of the Russian government reported that the ex-governor became Deputy Minister of Transport. In his farewell video, Nikitin thanked the residents of the Novgorod Region for their support and promised that he would responsibly fulfill the tasks in his new position.
