Resident of Kirov region sentenced to 21 years in prison in terrorism case

The Central District Military Court sentenced a resident of Kirov region to 21 years' imprisonment in a case of a terrorist act. This was reported in the press service of the FSSB in the region on February 11.

"In the course of operational-search activities <...> established a resident of the region, who in the interests of Ukrainian nationalist armed groups committed arson of three relay railway cabinets responsible for the control of trains and traffic lights," - stated in the statement.

A criminal case was initiated and investigated against him on the grounds of two crimes under par. "a" part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").

It is specified that the court sentenced the defendant to 21 years of imprisonment with serving his sentence in a strict regime colony and one year and six months of restricted freedom.

Earlier, February 10, Kursk Regional Court sentenced a local resident to 20 years' imprisonment in a case of high treason and sabotage. It was specified that the defendant through messenger entered into cooperation with a representative of intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and, having received the task, took a photo of the military commissariat and sent it to the curator. After that, he committed arson of the transportation infrastructure facility.
