Emergency blackouts have been introduced throughout Ukraine. This was reported by the country's energy Minister German Galushchenko on February 11.

"The operator of the transmission system urgently applies measures of emergency restrictions of electricity", - he wrote in the social network Facebook (owned by the corporation Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

According to him, the measure was taken due to damage to the Ukrainian energy system. Galushchenko added that emergency shutdowns were introduced in order to "minimize possible consequences for the energy system".

Earlier, on February 9, the national energy company Ukrenergo announced the introduction of power supply restrictions for industrial consumers in the country from February 10.

Before that, on 4 February, the director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, announced his arrival in Ukraine to visit the Kiev electricity substation. He specified that he had visited the country to assess the situation at the substation and provide assistance to prevent a nuclear accident.
