Kingisepp plant completes repair of combat engines for special operation needs


Military-industrial holding company Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) has tested a large batch of engines of military equipment for the needs of special operations. This was reported in the press service of the enterprise on February 11.
It is specified that engines UTD-20, V-84, V-46, D-12 were repaired within the framework of execution of state contracts. They are actively used on infantry fighting vehicles (IFV), amphibious assault vehicles (AMV), air defense complex "OSA", artillery units 2C7M "Malka" and "Msta-S", T-72B tank and multi-axle tractors. The tests were completed successfully.
"A large batch of engines has successfully passed the tests and is ready for combat missions. The engines have reached maximum revolutions on the test stands," the report says.
All engines pass the enterprise's quality control and are subject to military acceptance by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant provides a range of services to ensure guaranteed and uninterrupted operation of diesel units for civil and military purposes. The enterprise is engaged in the repair and maintenance of diesel engines and is the lead performer of a number of state defense contracts for the overhaul of diesel engines for engineering vehicles.
Earlier, on February 3, KMZ managing director Mikhail Danilenko said that the company has started to develop a domestic power plant for high-speed Russian border boats. According to him, it is planned to develop a diesel-reduction unit that will simultaneously utilize the power of two power units. It is specified that almost 300 million rubles have been allocated for the project realization.
