In the Amur region, a 22-year-old resident of Blagoveshchensk has been sentenced to 12 years for financing the Ukrainian army. This was reported in the press service of the FSS of Russia in the region on February 11.

It is specified that a criminal case under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High Treason") was initiated and investigated against the 22-year-old resident of Blagoveshchensk last year.

"During the investigation it was confirmed that the local resident was involved in the transfer of personal funds for the purchase of weapons, ammunition and military equipment by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the purpose of their use against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The sentence of the Amur Regional Court of the Amur resident was found guilty of committing the above crime and he was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony," the department said.

At the same time, the sentence has not entered into legal force, specified in the press service.

Earlier, on January 10, the official representative of the FSS of Russia in the DNR Arina Klepanova reported that a resident of Yenakievo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) was detained on suspicion of treason.
