A magnitude 5.2 earthquake has struck Morocco

Morocco has registered an earthquake in the province of Ouazzan (Tangier-Tetouan-El Hoceima region) with a magnitude of 5.2. This was reported on February 11 by Maghreb Arabe Press agency with reference to the National Institute of Geophysics.

It is specified that the focus was located at a depth of 20 km, and the epicenter was located in the commune of Brichka. As a result of the incident there was no destruction, the agency added.

In addition, according to the U.S. Geological Survey(USGS), this earthquake occurred with a magnitude of 5.1.

Earlier in the day, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported that an underwater earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 occurred near the coast of Greece.
