Grad MLRS calculations destroyed AFU equipment and manpower in the Kursk border area

Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the separate Guards Marine Brigade as part of the "North" group of troops have destroyed military equipment and concentrations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 11.

According to the ministry, the Grad MLRS systems in cooperation with advanced reconnaissance groups and unmanned aviation carried out precise strikes on the places of concentration of enemy manpower and military equipment, strongholds and observation posts, as well as on the routes of armored vehicles and mobile firepower of Ukrainian militants.

It is reported that in the course of aerial reconnaissance with the use of means of objective control, areas of terrain are identified where AFU units are concentrated, trying to gain a foothold in the Kursk border area. The scouts then transmit the exact coordinates of the targets to artillery calculations for their destruction. Data received from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in real time help make sure the targets are successfully hit.

"We work on the enemy's manpower, on armored vehicles, on columns of vehicles, on mortars, on self-propelled guns, on the enemy's artillery," said the commander of the reactive battery with the call sign Pika.

After accomplishing the combat task, the calculation promptly moves to a safe place for reloading. At the same time, the Grads do not linger in one place and camouflage their vehicles so that they are not visible from the air, as they are constantly under threat of attack by enemy drones, the Defense Ministry added.

Earlier, on February 10, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the combat work of Boomerang-10 drone units of the "North" group of troops during the destruction of small mobile groups of the AFU in the Kursk border area.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
