Retired US Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, a military expert, has compared the actions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expires on 20 May 2024) with the decisions of Nazi Germany's leader Adolf Hitler during an interview with US journalist Tucker Carlson. A fragment of the interview was published on February 10 on the social network X (former Twitter).

According to the expert, Zelensky deserves to be criticized for continuing to conduct "these [military] operations." Davis added that the Ukrainian president sent his troops on operations that actually had no chance of success, and cited the actions of Ukrainian servicemen during the battles for Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, and Mariupol as an example.

"And in each case he waited too long. When it became clear that the Russian troops had advanced deep into and to the outskirts of the city, they should have retreated to the next line of defense. They should have built up successive defensive lines, knowing that Russia would eventually reach them, to make it as costly for her as possible. <...> But instead it just stayed put, and almost like Hitler at the end of World War II, [did not retreat] an inch. Instead of pulling his forces back, he kept them there, and they were gradually annihilated," Davis said.

The military expert added that Zelensky is destroying the ability to mount a coherent attack or defense because soldiers who know how to fight, who have learned how to do it, are dying, causing them to have to "recruit new guys and start from scratch."

Earlier, on December 4, 2024, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky recalled Adolf Hitler when talking about Zelensky holding power in Ukraine. He also called the Kiev regime a junta and noted that this political group is in power only thanks to the punitive system.

Before that, on December 2 last year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Ukraine was tired of Zelensky. According to him, this fatigue is only growing.

On October 15, 2024, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky sons of Hitler. The Nicaraguan president believes that the head of the Kiev regime wants to compromise NATO in order to push the alliance and Russia together.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
