The peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine will be the main topic of the Munich Security Conference. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on February 10.

"People from all over the world - leaders from all over the world - are going to this conference. But the main topic for everyone will be [the conflict] in Ukraine," he said on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Rubio said U.S. President Donald Trump is "going to chart a broad path forward and wants" that conflict to end. He said the topic is of interest to everyone, which is why at the Munich conference "we're going to be discussing this with foreign ministers and other leaders."

Munich Security Conference will be held from February 14 to 16.

Earlier in the day Bloomberg agency said that Trump's special envoy for the Ukrainian settlement Keith Kellogg in the next few weeks intends to present to the head of the White House options for ending the conflict in Ukraine. It was specified that Kellogg needs to get all the necessary information from officials at the Munich conference.

At the same time, The Telegraph newspaper reported that the Trump administration suspended the development of a plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict to take into account the opinion of Europe. The Italian news agency ANSA also reported that NATO ruled out the readiness of Trump's plan for the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, it will not be provided in the near future.

In turn, the Semafor edition, citing sources, reported that Kellogg may provide scenarios for the peaceful conclusion of the Ukrainian conflict at the Munich conference. At the same time, the White House special envoy for Ukraine previously denied any statements that a plan for a peaceful settlement could be presented at this meeting, which will be held on February 14.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly reminded that Russia has never given up on peace talks, but they should be conducted on the basis of the provisions agreed in Istanbul and not on the basis of "ephemeral demands."

The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024) enforced the decision of the country's National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
