CICA Secretary General spoke about the timeline for transforming the structure into an organization

The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) will become a full-fledged international organization if the Charter is adopted at the summit in 2026, its Secretary General Kairat Sarybay told Izvestia.

"The transformation of CICA is seen as an evolutionary process and member states do not set artificial timeframes. If they manage to adopt a charter at the 2026 summit, it will finally consolidate the international legal status of the organization," he explained.

CICA is a unique pan-Asian platform for dialog that unites 28 states of the continent. It was founded in 1992. At the summit in 2022, the Astana Statement was adopted to transform the meeting into an international organization.
