Russia believes that Armenia's simultaneous membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU) is impossible, so Yerevan will have to make a choice over time, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Izvestia.

"It will be difficult to permanently preserve this dual-track nature - membership in the EAEU and the process of rapprochement with the European Union. At some stage it will still have to be determined," Galuzin noted.

At the same time, the diplomat emphasized that the Russian Federation highly appreciates Yerevan's contribution to the EAEU.

"Last year Armenia chaired the EAEU, and very successfully, we are grateful to our Armenian friends for such a really effective presidency," he specified.

Armenia will host a parliamentary session from February 11-14, one of the key topics of which will be the discussion of the draft law on starting the process of the country's accession to the EU.
