NATO has ruled out the readiness of US President Donald Trump's plan to settle the conflict in Ukraine, it will not be provided in the near future. This was reported on February 10 by the Italian news agency ANSA, citing a source from the North Atlantic Alliance.

"Trump's plan for peace in Ukraine is "not yet ready" and will not be presented "this week"," the publication said.

The source specified that the new head of the Pentagon Pete Hegseth will arrive in Brussels for the first time this week for a meeting of defense ministers of NATO countries, and a US delegation headed by US Vice President James David Vance will go to the Munich conference.

According to him, the White House special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg will visit the headquarters of the alliance no earlier than the second half of February, and meetings will be held "when the plan matures."

Earlier in the day Semafor edition, citing sources reported that Kellogg may present scenarios for a peaceful conclusion to the Ukrainian conflict at the Munich conference. At the same time, the White House special envoy for Ukraine previously denied any statements that a plan for a peaceful settlement could be presented at this meeting, which will begin on February 14.

Before that, on February 5, it was reported that Kellogg would visit Kiev on February 20. As noted by the Ukrainian TV channel Public, this date was proposed by the US side.

Kellogg said on January 31 that Trump intends to give Moscow and Kiev leverage to negotiate the settlement of the conflict. According to him, the administration of the United States is considering options to pressure not only Russia, but also Ukraine. According to Kellogg, all this "will provide the US President with leverage to bring the conflict to an end." At the time, Trump said he was holding "very constructive talks" with Russia and Ukraine to resolve the conflict.

The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place on March 29, 2022 in Istanbul. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024) introduced a decision of the country's National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
