Nebenzia recalled Moscow's warnings about USAID funding of radicals

Moscow has repeatedly said that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) supports radicals around the world, but this was blamed on Russian "propaganda". This statement was made on February 10 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
"We are not surprised by the recent revelations about the activities of the USAID agency. We have been saying for a long time that it finances radicals around the world. It was just that earlier it was written off as Russian propaganda, but in the end everything turned out to be true," he said during the UN Security Council meeting "Threats to International Peace and Security Caused by Terrorist Acts," which was broadcast on the organization's website.
Nebenzya also said that the Russian Federation demands from Western countries transparency and rejection of selectivity in the fight against terrorism. According to him, a number of Western states "do not consider terrorism as an absolute evil and do not adhere to a policy of zero tolerance towards it."
On February 3, American billionaire Ilon Musk announced the launch of a process to dismantle USAID. The businessman noted that the agency was beyond recovery and should be closed. At the same time, US President Donald Trump called the heads of the agency radical madmen.
Bloomberg reported on February 5 that Musk's team gained access to the room where secret USAID documents are stored. In addition, more than 100 employees of the agency were sent on administrative leave.
