President of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir Golubev told on Monday, February 10, why a dog can chew wallpaper. According to the specialist, this can happen because the pet lacks physical activity, it lacks new experiences and impressions.

"The pet simply finds something to do at home while the owner is not paying attention to him. In addition, the cause of such behavior can be fear, boredom, health problems. The main thing is not to scold the pet, but to understand the situation", - he commented in conversation with "Radio 1".

The cause of destructive behavior of the dog can be incomplete walking, lack of active games and other physical activity.

Some pets are also afraid to be left alone at home. Because of this, they may become nervous and start smashing the apartment.

"If the owner often changes the schedule of walks, the rhythm of the dog's life is disrupted. The dog is not accustomed to the rules in the house, does not understand when it will be fed, taken out for a walk or play. In this case, the pet can become nervous and demonstrate destructive behavior," - said Golubev.

At the same time, the specialist stressed that it is important not to scold or punish the dog for such behavior. If you caught the pet for property damage, you need to command "Fu!", "You can not!" and send the pet to the place.

The cynologist noted that in order for the dog did not rip off the wallpaper, you need to eliminate the causes of such behavior of the pet: adjust the time of walking, add physical activity or games.
