Among automobile brands that are not officially represented on the Russian market, the leader in terms of sales in 2024 became the Chinese Li Xiang. This is reported by Motor.ru on February 10.

Li Xiang brand ended the year with the result of 23.2 thousand cars sold in the Russian market. At the same time, the brand has no official importer or representative office in Russia. The most popular model was a mid-size crossover L7, followed by L9 and L6.

The second line is occupied by Toyota (20.7 thousand units), which sold RAV4 and Camry models best of all last year. The third place went to Kia (16.8 thousand cars), the best sellers of which were Sportage and Seltos.

The top five leaders in terms of sales volume among the most popular brands, which are not officially represented on the Russian market, were Hyundai (14.7 thousand units, best sellers - Tucson and Santa Fe) and BMW (11.8 thousand units, best sellers - X5 and X7).

On January 17, "Izvestia" reported that sales of new passenger cars of premium brands from Europe, the United States and Japan, which are no longer officially represented in the country's market, have increased in Russia. Some brands and models even surpassed the results shown in the pre-sanctions period. For example, Russians bought more than 2,000 new Porsche sports cars and crossovers (+15.6%), 150 Lamborghini crossovers and supercars (+32.7%), and about the same number of Rolls-Royce (+74.7%).
