A Muscovite woman was cheated out of 2.3 million rubles when buying a tour ticket

A woman in Moscow was defrauded of 2.3 million rubles while buying a tourist voucher. This was reported by a source of Izvestiya on February 10.

According to the interlocutor, the woman applied to the travel company two years ago with a request for help in buying a trip. Then the victim contacted the company manager via messenger. The employee found a suitable option and asked to make an advance payment of 700 thousand rubles on the link she sent. The woman transferred 2.3 million rubles.

After payment, the manager said that the tickets would be sent in a couple of days, but the victim never received the tickets. Later, an employee of the travel agency said that the money would be returned, but no one answered the victim's phone calls after that.

A check is being conducted on this fact.

Earlier, on February 7, it became known that a resident of Magadan transferred more than 17 million rubles to fraudsters. A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").
