American fast food restaurant chain McDonald's is experiencing the sharpest drop in sales in the United States since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was reported by Reuters on February 10.

In the IV quarter of 2024, sales of McDonald's chain in the United States fell by 1.4%. According to the agency, demand was affected by a short-term outbreak of E. coli in October 2024.

The company tried to support sales with various discounts, dinners and special offers, but the number of visits to restaurants still declined.

Earlier, in January, the law firm Leigh Day reported that more than 700 former and current employees of McDonald's in the UK joined a lawsuit against the fast-food restaurant chain for harassment at work. It was noted that at that time in the lawsuits involved more than 450 restaurants.
