The expert gave advice on competent allocation of savings

When investing, it is important to allocate your budget correctly - part of it should be invested in shares, and the other part should be put, for example, in a bank with the possibility of partial withdrawal, or savings accounts with interest above inflation, Capital Lab partner Evgeny Shatov told Izvestia on February 10.
"Investors should resort to portfolio diversification (not investing the entire amount in one asset or sector). We can consider the following example of allocation: 50% - stocks, 30% - bonds, 10% - real estate funds, 10% - alternative assets," the expert explained.
According to him, investors should take a long-term approach: invest regularly, use compound interest (reinvest income, for example, through exchange-traded funds with reinvestment of dividends).
In addition, exchange-traded funds on indices (for example, Moscow Exchange) are good tools for beginners. It also makes sense for investors to open an individual investment account (IIS), which gives the right to tax benefits (13% deduction in the Russian Federation).
It is also necessary to clearly formulate financial goals and break them down by timeframe, for example, short-term (1-3 years) - deposits or short bonds can be used to achieve them. Medium-term (3-5 years) - bonds and exchange-traded funds are suitable and long-term (5+ years) - for them, stocks, real estate, and venture capital investments will work best.
"It is important not to forget about portfolio rebalancing: once every 6-12 months you should adjust the shares of assets to keep the balance (for example, if stocks have grown stronger than bonds)," said Shatov.
According to the expert, it is important to consider risk insurance, insurance policies, while avoiding investments in schemes with guaranteed high returns, as it is often a fraud. Investors should look for instruments with real returns (above inflation) and actively use tax benefits and constantly improve their financial literacy.
"It is important to start small: even 10% of income invested regularly will yield results over time. Competent financial management is a marathon, not a sprint, so a systematic approach and discipline will help to preserve and increase capital", - summarized Shatov.
The information in the material is not an investment recommendation.
Earlier, on January 16, Oleg Reshetnikov, stock market expert at BKS Investment World, and Natalia Malykh, head of the stock analysis department at Finam Financial Group, told Izvestia about the consolidation of the MosBirch index at 2900 points due to the halt of monetary policy tightening. According to experts, in December the Central Bank unexpectedly kept the key rate at 21% despite expectations of an increase amid weakening corporate lending. If this trend continues in 2025 and inflation shows a tendency to slow down, the chances of monetary policy easing will increase.
