In 2024, Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi became the most popular smartphone brands among Russians compared to the previous year. At the same time, Chinese brands - Infinix, TECNO and Google - became the leaders of sales growth, according to the data of Avito experts, which were reviewed by Izvestia on February 11.

Apple is in first place in terms of sales with a share of 64%. Gadgets of this brand in resale were bought for an average of Br29 thousand, while new ones - for Br63 thousand. The second place was taken by Samsung - smartphones of this brand accounted for 11% of sales. On average, they were bought for Br16 thousand "off-hand" and for Br50 thousand new. The top three is followed by Xiaomi with a share of 10%. Smartphones of this brand in 2024 on average cost 9 thousand rubles in resale and 23 thousand rubles in new condition. It is followed by HONOR - this brand accounted for 3% of sales. On average, these gadgets "from hand" were bought for Br6 thousand, new - for Br23 thousand. The top-5 also included realme brand with a share of 2% (an average of Br8 thousand in resale and Br16 thousand - in new condition).

Pavel Komarov, head of the business unit "Electronics and household appliances" in "Avito", noted that there is a strengthening of the positions of Chinese brands. At the same time, the interest in buying and selling gadgets "from hand" remains stably high.

Chinese brands are leading in sales growth - for example, sales of Infinix smartphones increased more than 2.5 times. In resale they were bought on average for Br8 thousand, in new condition - for Br11 thousand. TECNO is in second place with more than twofold growth in sales. The average cost of such smartphones "from hand" amounted to Br7 thousand, new - Br11 thousand. Also in the top 3 were gadgets from Google with an increase of 25%. On average, they were bought for Br25 thousand in resale, and new ones - for Br50 thousand. Closing the top five are Apple and realme with sales growth of 8 and 3%, respectively.

According to the online platform, the highest average prices for smartphones in 2024 were recorded in Moscow (Br39 thousand). Simferopol is in second place (Br38 thousand), while Rostov-on-Don is in third place (Br37 thousand on average). The most affordable average prices were observed in Karelia (Br21 thousand), Arkhangelsk (Br22 thousand) and Smolensk (Br25 thousand).

Earlier, January 30, it was reported that in 2024, Russians showed increased interest in non-standard smartphones. This follows from the data of the combined retail network of Megafon and Yota. Sales of flexible devices increased by more than 107%, while gadgets with artificial intelligence capabilities were purchased 1.8 times more often than in 2023.
