Xiaomi cars may start selling in Russia officially

Xiaomi Auto's electric cars may officially appear on the Russian market. This follows from the statement of representatives of the Chinese concern Sinomach Auto, which is represented in the Russian market by the car brands Oting and Rox.

"Hyperion Leasing (Tianjin), a subsidiary of Sinomach Auto, announced the start of a global export-trade cooperation with Xiaomi Auto, which produces SU7 electric cars. The company said Hyperion Leasing (Tianjin)'s Russian subsidiary Hyperion Leasing (Tianjin) plans to introduce a third brand to enter the Russian market in 2025. It intends to bring "Chinese intelligent vehicles powered by new energy sources" to the Russian market.

"An agreement has now been reached at the global level. As for Russia - we will analyze," the concern's press service told Izvestia on February 10.

Now Xiaomi electric cars can be sold in Russia only through the "gray" channel to individuals without system technical support, regular software updates and official warranty. As sales grow, the market and consumers are "increasingly waiting for the official launch of the brand in the Russian market," the company emphasized. According to Avtostat Info, 179 Xiaomi SU7 electric cars were sold in Russia last year.

On December 19 last year Sinomach concern presented in Russia premium SUV Rox 01. The model will be offered in a seven-seat version at a price from 9.17 million rubles and in a six-seat version for 9.38 million rubles.

On October 22, it was reported that Oting plans to introduce a compact crossover and a full-size SUV in Russia. They will be models based on Nissan Qashqai and Patrol.
