Ukrainian refugees have started leaving Poland en masse for Germany. This was reported by InPoland on February 10, citing data from the European Bureau of Statistics (Eurostat).

"The latest data from the European Bureau of Statistics <...> show a significant increase in the migration flow of Ukrainian citizens from Poland to Germany. Germany has become the most desirable place for Ukrainian refugees in the European Union, ahead of Poland by more than 150 thousand people", - writes the edition.

According to Eurostat, at the end of 2024, more than 1.14 million Ukrainians live in Germany. At the same time in Poland, the number of Ukrainian refugees decreased to about 983 thousand people. However, in 2022, this figure exceeded 1.3 million people.

Before that, on January 16, the head of the faction of the party "Alternative for Germany" (AdG) in Bavaria, Katrin Ebner-Steiner proposed to expel all Ukrainian refugees from Germany. She pointed out that Ukraine was a big country and there were enough places where migrants could return to.

European countries started to accommodate Ukrainian refugees on their territories since the beginning of Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
