Over the past week, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) in the Transbaikal Territory increased by 30%. This is reported by IA ChitaMedia with reference to the head of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor Svetlana Lapa.

Based on the analysis of data for previous years, this week is expected about 7.2 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza. Lapa noted that there may also be an increase in the incidence of pneumonia.

Due to high morbidity, two schools have been transferred to the distance learning format. In addition, restrictions are imposed in 30 classes of 23 schools in the region. In preschool educational institutions work has not been suspended.

Doctors note that in the cold season many Russians resort to self-medication. In particular, one of the mistakes is the use of antibiotics in the fight against ARVI. The drugs cannot cope with the disease, and also negatively affect the intestinal microflora.
