PMR head points to possibility of gas supply thanks to Russian support

The supply of gas to the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic (TMR) by the Hungarian company MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG has become possible with Russian credit and functional support. This was announced by the head of the republic Vadim Krasnoselsky on February 10.
Earlier in the day, Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that gas transit to the DMR would be allowed under a number of conditions. He specified that the money from the European grant provided had been used in full.
"The Hungarian supply became possible with Russian credit and functional support. I thank the representatives of the Russian Ministry of Energy for their help," Krasnoselsky wrote in his Telegram channel.
He also added that the republic will be supplied with gas and the region's energy system should stabilize.
Former Moldovan president and leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon said on February 4 that the energy crisis in the unrecognized republic was created by Kiev and Chisinau, which seek to provoke a humanitarian disaster on the left bank of the Dnieper.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova pointed out on January 30 that Moldova was interested in using the energy crisis as a weapon against the DMR. According to Zakharova, Chisinau's words about its desire to end the difficulties that Tiraspol is experiencing are mere declarations.
Gas supplies from Russia to Moldova and Transnistria stopped on January 1 due to Ukraine 's refusal to prolong the agreement on transit through its territory and debts of the Moldovan side to Gazprom. In mid-January, it became known that Russia was ready to provide assistance to the DMR and start humanitarian gas supplies.
