In Pskov, a gymnasium with the study of the basics of Orthodox culture is preparing to move to a new building. From September 1, 2025 classes will be held in the building on Kiseleva Street. This was told by Metropolitan Matthias of Pskov and Porkhov. He will become the patron saint of the educational institution.

According to him, cited by the Pskov newswire, the documentation for licensing should be ready by the end of May, as the license will not be obtained without comprehensive tests.

The main task is to train specialists who could teach Orthodoxy with their own spiritual experience and knowledge of pedagogy.

The head of the city education department Gennady Ioilev noted that the process of accreditation requires special attention, the school staff this year is striving to pass it, so that the learning process was carried out with all the opportunities that this accreditation gives.

In early February it was reported that the readiness of the school building for 525 seats on Kiseleva Street is over 90%. It remains to finish a small amount of work on landscaping, to finalize the design of facades.

Earlier, January 21, it became known that the Tauride Theological Seminary is moving from Simferopol to Chersonese. Classes of future clergy will be held in the revived cloister of St. Vladimir Chersonese Monastery and in the premises of the museum and temple complex "New Chersonese".
