The weighted average price of a new car in Russia has increased

The weighted average price of a new passenger car in Russia at the end of 2024 amounted to 3.12 million rubles, which is 6% more year-on-year. This was reported by the analytical agency "Autostat" on February 10.

The weighted average price of a new passenger car is calculated on the basis of average values of prices recommended by the distributor and sales volumes for each model, taking into account modifications (engine displacement, drive, transmission, body).

As told by analysts, this indicator is constantly increasing, but in the past year its growth slowed down a lot. Thus, in 2020, the weighted average price increased by 7%, in 2021 - by 18%, in 2022 - by 20%, and in 2023 - by 24%. Over the past five years, the indicator has doubled - in 2019, the price was 1.57 million rubles.

On February 7, it was reported that in Russia for the year cars of a number of Chinese brands in the secondary market became cheaper, the price decreased by 15-19%. The most noticeable decrease in the average price of cars with mileage brand Changan: the change amounted to 19.2%. In second place is the Korean brand Genesis, whose cars lost in price by 18%.

February 4, it became known that the average price of a new car in January increased by 5.7% compared to December, to 3.94 million rubles. In 12 regions of Russia (Tatarstan, Moscow, Voronezh region, etc.) the average price increased, and in 10 regions, such as Krasnoyarsk region, Ulyanovsk region and Stavropol region, recorded a decrease.
