More than 50% of US citizens positively assessed the first weeks of Donald Trump's presidency. This was reported on February 10 by the American TV channel CBS with reference to the institute of public opinion research YouGov.

According to the publication, the majority of respondents called Trump a tough, energetic, purposeful and effective head of state, while emphasizing that he fulfills his campaign promises.

53% of Americans positively assessed Trump's presidential performance, while 47% disagreed, Gazeta.Ru added.

According to CBS, the Republican's supporters claim that he pays due attention to such issues as ending programs to promote diversity, equality and inclusion and deporting illegal migrants.

However, US citizens have expressed dissatisfaction that the Trump administration is not working with lowering prices.

The poll was conducted between February 5 and 7. It was participated by 2,175 adult Americans. The margin of error amounted to 2.5%.

On the eve, February 9, former deputy national security adviser to the 44th American President Barack Obama, Ben Rhodes, said that not all of Trump 's stated foreign policy goals suggest implementation or speak to his strength. He said the U.S. leader's threats of trade wars and attacks on Panama and Greenland resemble the actions of a school bully.

The U.S. leader signed more than 200 new executive orders immediately after his inauguration on Jan. 21. Among them is the introduction of a state of emergency on the border with Mexico and the inclusion of drug cartels in the list of terrorist organizations. Also, only two genders - male and female - are now recognized in the United States.
